There are extra languages supported in the new version which may be a good reason for you. This is important because there are good reasons the newest version isn't in the default repo, it's not laziness. It is supported in Ubuntu 22.04, for which the Mint version that'll be based on it isn't out yet. OK, that version isn't supported in Ubuntu 20.04, whcih Mint 20 is based on.
